1. Who We Are

OurFamilyVault ("we," "us," or "our") is a household wealth organizer operated as a sole proprietorship. Our service is available at ourfamilyvault.app. We help families organize financial and estate information in one private, secure place.

We are not a bank, law firm, financial advisory firm, or accounting firm. This service is for organizational purposes only.

2. What Information We Collect

When you create an account and use OurFamilyVault, we collect:

• Account information: your name and email address

• Household data you choose to enter: asset descriptions and estimated values, debt information, contact names and roles, document titles and notes, and household name

• Usage data: when you log in and use features of the app

We do not collect your Social Security number, bank account credentials, passwords to financial institutions, actual financial documents (only descriptions/notes you type), or payment card numbers beyond what Stripe processes for subscription billing.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

• Provide and operate the OurFamilyVault service

• Authenticate your account and keep your data secure

• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)

• Process subscription payments through Stripe

• Improve the app based on aggregate, anonymized usage patterns

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your personal or household financial data with any third party except as described in Section 4.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only with:

• Supabase (our database provider) — stores your encrypted data on secure servers. Supabase is SOC 2 Type 2 certified.

• Stripe (our payment processor) — handles subscription billing. We never see or store your full credit card number.

• Vercel (our hosting provider) — serves the application. No personal data is stored with Vercel beyond standard web logs.

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal or household data to any third party for marketing or any other commercial purpose.

5. Data Security

We take the security of your household data seriously:

• All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/HTTPS

• Your data is stored in Supabase with row-level security (RLS) — meaning database-level rules ensure each user can only access their own data, even at the infrastructure level

• Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text

• We use secure, industry-standard authentication provided by Supabase Auth

• Our domain uses HTTPS-only enforcement

No system is 100% secure. While we implement strong safeguards, we cannot guarantee absolute security. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your household data within 30 days. Some anonymized, aggregate data may be retained for business analytics.

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us at the address in Section 10.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you

• Correct inaccurate data

• Request deletion of your data

• Export your data

• Withdraw consent at any time by closing your account

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of sale (we do not sell data).

8. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required to keep you logged in and maintain your session. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

OurFamilyVault is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
